The department of General Medicine deals with the prevention, diagnosis and non-surgical treatment of various diseases. It serves as the first point of contact whenever a patient cases and then they recommended necessary tests and diagnostic procedures are performed. The results of these tests, the general physical examination and symptoms are then correlated to arrive at a final diagnosis. Depending on the final diagnosis, the patient is given the necessary treatment, usually medication by the general physician or is referred to a speciality department for further treatment.


This branch focuses on the study, functioning and disorders affecting the stomach, esophagus, intestines, and many associated organs including the pancreas, liver and gallbladder. It is perhaps considered one of the youngest disciplines among the subspecialities of internal medicine. The division of gastroenterology has the best talent in the field and supporting the excellent professionals are a team of paramedical staff-nurses and technicians. The division boasts of well equipped Endoscopy unit where high end and complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures are performed.
